RE Curriculum Updates

To Know You More Clearly is the new Religious Education Directory. This is a document which is agreed by the by the Catholic Bishops of England and Wales and sets out what Catholic Schools are expected to teach.

The previous Curriculum Directory was published in 2012 and the Come and See RE program, which we follow at St Mary's, is based on this.

Schools must have fully implemented the new directory by September 2026. To start this journey, from Summer 2024 we have planned from the new directory in both Foundation and Year 1.  In September 2024, the new planning was then introduced in Year 2. 

The new RE curriculum will gradually be introduced to each year group over the next academic year.
