Interventions at Saint Mary's

What are interventions?

The term intervention refers to a short-term focused teaching approach that will typically have a specific set of outcomes that have been planned for a child. Interventions are used alongside high-quality teaching methods so that children with SEND feel as supported as possible.

When may interventions be needed?

There are times when children may not make progress at the same pace as other children in their class so the class teacher may suggest an intervention. These interventions are planned, assessed and reviewed half termly.

What do interventions at Saint Mary's look like?

Below you can find some of the interventions we offer at Saint Mary's. Your child may access one or more of the interventions below based on their need. These will be discussed with you at your child's termly SEND review. This list is not exhaustive and is added to and changed based on the need of our school and the training of our staff.
